Preventive healthcare powered by technology

The purpose of our examinations is not only to discover serious diseases but also to provide us with an opportunity to find everyone’s most important risk factors to tailor-make a preventive program.

It is about your survival

Survival statistics depending on the spread of the cancer* Early detection refers to the discovery of a local tumor. At a late detection, the tumor has already spread.

Types of cancer Early detection Late detection
Colon 91% 11%
Lung 49% 3%
Bladder 92% 6%
Renal 90% 10%
Prostate 99% 32%
Breast 98% 27%

EARLY DETECTION SCREENING:
DISCOVERING DISEASES IN TIME

The earlier the intervention in the disease process, the better the chances of success in treatment. A large proportion of those who die from cancer would have survived if the cancer would have been discovered in time. The same is true for many who die from a heart attack. It is a well-known fact that about half of those who die from a heart attack never had any symptoms prior to the attack. Therefore, it is essential to identify the risk factors before they become a problem. This is one of the goals of our examination.

UNCOMFORTABLE FACTS,
BUT IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

  • 30% do not survive their first heart attack
  • 15-30% may be permanently damaged after a stroke
  • 1 of 4 dies of cancer
  • 1 of 3 dies of heart attack or stroke
  • Of those who receive late diagnosis of colon cancer 91% die within 5 years,
but of those who receive an early diagnosis only 11% die within 5 years

CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Myocardial infarction is the most common cause of death in Sweden today and accounts for 30% of all deaths.
Each year, well over 20,000 are affected by myocardial infarction. The incidence of heart and vessel related diseases are almost as high in women as in men. The development of the occlusion of the blood vessels is a process taking several years and is determined by controllable risk factors as well as non-controllable risk factors. When you suffer a heart attack or angina the vascular changes are usually already well advanced. It is therefore of great importance to find arterial changes at an early stage prior to the development of symptoms.

CANCER

In the Western world, cancer is the second most common cause of death after cardiovascular diseases, accounting for about 25% of all deaths. Only in Sweden, annually 50,000 people are diagnosed with cancer. Today there are proven diagnostic methods to detect many cancers at an early stage when they have not yet shown any symptoms.

Many of those who die of cancer would thus have been saved with the type of examination that Executive Health offers.
